Looking Ahead: Windows “8″

Microsoft | Codename: "Copenhagen" ScreenshotIt hasn’t even been a full month since general availability of Microsoft Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 and people already are getting itchy wanting to see what lies ahead.  Well, the good news is that Microsoft is hard at work tinkering and toying with new ideas to make what we have in Windows 7, even better!  The bad news?  Well…lets just say that Microsoft has it set in their minds, that building something new will mean building a new user experience…yet again.

It should not come as ground breaking news that Microsoft has been working very closely with their research and development teams on deciding what new features to implement in the successor to Windows 7.  The process of taking an idea from conception to implementation can often be daunting, if not sometimes completely impossible, so it’s no wonder Microsoft would want to keep all rumors and speculation of its Windows 7 successor away from the general public.  It hasn’t been confirmed as of yet, but a Microsoft project, Codename: “Copenhagen”, has begun popping up showcasing a futuristic-looking Windows experience, which only furthers my speculation:  Is Codename: “Copenhagen” the next version of Microsoft Windows?

We will have to wait and see to find out for sure, but for now…enjoy a taste of what might be in store for Windows “8″!
