That Time of Year Again…
I am very excited to announce that it is that time of year again! Summertime? Nope, well…yeah I suppose. Pizza Friday? Its not even Friday…so…no. Apple iPhone launch? No, but come on Apple…isn’t it time already to announce the new iPhone? Nope, but in all seriousness I hope Apple announces something soon. No, I am referring to TechEd time! What?! You don’t know what TechEd is? TechEd happens to be an annual week long conference event that Microsoft holds for IT Professionals, Developers, Architects, and technology decision makers. It also happens to be a blast loaded with technology giveaways, learning labs, on-site Microsoft Certified Trainers (like me), industry experts, development gurus, and tons and tons of information!
So its obvious why someone like me in IT would go, but why would a small business owner or an individual interested in technology solutions want to attend Microsoft TechEd 2010? First of all, its being held in good old New Orleans, LA, and for those of you whom haven’t been there, it has a lot of soul and energy! So if you are in need of a vacation, New Orleans, LA is definitely worth a look, but secondly, and most importantly, TechEd is designed to be a learning experience on many levels. You could come to TechEd without any technical background whatsoever and still gain a great deal from the experience through business networking, learning labs, or even just plan socializing, as Microsoft brings out the program management teams from almost every server, development, application, and operating platform technologies that they offer!
I will be attending Microsoft TechEd 2010 this year from Sunday, June 6, 2010 to Thursday, June 10, 2010 and will be blogging on-site, trying my hand at posting video blogs while I am there, if you too are going to Microsoft TechEd 2010, look for what the IT guy with the black apple hat, chances are that will be me!
