Apple iPhone launch? No, but come on Apple...isn't it time already to announce the new iPhone? Nope, but in all seriousness I hope Apple announces something soon. No, I am referring to TechEd time!

I have put in an order for a new HP ENVY 13" notebook to replace my stolen blogging system which I should be receiving sometime this Friday. I am extremely excited about this, as I am not a fan of writing my blog on my MacBook Pro 13" (Mid-2009 model), no offense Apple, I just miss myNV. In any case, I have decided to take this as an opportunity to answer a key question that has been circulating in my head especially after this horrific event: In a world where technology is so key to our daily lives, where it is so accesible, how can we secure it?

For many people, Wednesday, January 27, 2010 was no ordinary day. On January 27, 2010, Apple announced for the first time to the world that all the rumors and speculation over an "Apple tablet device" were true. This was the first time that we heard the term Apple iPad, and the buzz was incredible! Some people claimed the iPad to be nothing more than an oversized iPhone, some claimed it to be "the netbook killer", and others saw it as a multimedia haven to where printed media can finally meet the digital age in a single, accepted format. Whatever the claims, and wherever you were, there was plenty of buzz surrounding this product that was announced to be 60 days away from general availability. Then, finally when Apple announced the availability to start preordering the iPad for its arrival on Saturday, April 3, 2010, people started slowly finding their way into their nearest Apple Store location to talk about the newest addition to the Apple device family. As I awoke this past Saturday morning at 7:30 AM, it actually dawned on me that the wait was over. The day that many were waiting for in anticipation had finally arrived. The day a new era arrived was here...the launch of the Apple iPad.

Two weeks ago, I wrote a post showing you how to connect Apple's newest bluetooth, multi-touch mouse, known as an Apple Magic Magic Mouse, to a Windows-based PC. In that article, Mickey Isn’t the Only Magical Mouse, I point out that it would be fantastic if the multi-touch features would work with a Windows-based PC, and at bare minimum the ability to scroll up and down on a web page as many computer mice currently do. After the record number of hits on the post, I decided that I would take some more time and investigate into a way to actually get the Apple Magic Mouse to operate on a Windows-based PC without limitations.

I realize that we in IT, can easily take for granted how difficult challenges such as a new computer can be for some consumers, especially coming over to anything new or different. After purchasing my new Apple MacBook Pro 13" notebook computer system that I wrote about in the previous post, Apple Makes It as Easy as 1-2-3, thinking nothing of it, I thought that its quite likely that some of you may never have had the opportunity to see what the experience of taking an Apple computer home or to your office is like.

As a general rule, I don't like to "buy in" to television advertisements unless they can prove to be factual in some way or form, especially coming from a company like Apple who primarily runs their advertisement campaign to compete against the PC market. That being said, the video illustrated on customer service is painfully accurate as I can't help but agree at how easy Apple has made the customer experience, after my recent visit at the Apple Store in the Menlo Park Mall in Edison, NJ. I went to the Apple Store with a simple question in mind: If I were to act as a typical business customer and show interest in purchasing a new computer from Apple, how hard would it be, and what would my experience be like?

To say that WordCamp NYC 2009 was a success would be a great understatement, as it brought in more than 800+ attendees from all around to share their vastly different levels of experiences and real world strategies with other fellow WordPress bloggers. There was no way that even a newbie on WordPress would not have gained tremendously from the amount of knowledge circulating around the campus of Baruch College in New York City this past weekend. As stated this past weekend in a post entitled, Going to Camp, I attended the Blogger session track all day on Saturday. Of all the sessions presented (and there were some really great ones), I believe that the most useful session of them all was delivered by Corey Eulas, an Internet Marketing Expert from Ninety Seven Media on SEO/SEM. You can hear the entirety of Corey's presentation at the end of this post, along with a link to his slides.
